Shift: 4 on, 4 off – 6PM to 6AM. Salary: Competitive with opportunities for growth.

About the Role

We are looking for a Multi‑Skilled Engineer to join our Engineering team at the Nicholas & Harris site of Finsbury Food Group. The role is vital to ensuring reliability, performance and continuous improvement of our manufacturing operations, while supporting the delivery of safe, high‑quality products.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a wide range of production equipment and site services, ensuring safe, efficient and reliable bakery operation.
  • Carry out planned preventive maintenance (PPM), respond to breakdowns, complete corrective maintenance activities and support installation and improvement projects across the site.
  • Diagnose faults, identify root causes and implement effective solutions to minimise disruption to production.
  • Record maintenance activities accurately through our Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS), capturing work orders, materials and labour.
  • Support the development of maintenance standards, equipment performance monitoring and engineering best practice across the site.
  • Work closely with Operations and Technical teams to drive a proactive maintenance culture and support the site’s growth plans.

  • Health & Safety compliance.
  • Continuous improvement contribution.
  • Effective root cause analysis and problem resolution.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Qualified Multi‑Skilled Engineer with recognised engineering qualifications.
  • Experience within a manufacturing environment (food manufacturing desirable).
  • Strong fault‑finding and diagnostic skills across electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Excellent communication and teamworking skills.
  • Ability to work independently and make sound decisions under pressure.
  • Self‑motivated with a proactive approach to maintenance and continuous improvement.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to high standards.
  • IT literate with experience using maintenance management systems.
  • IPAF qualification and/or 18th Edition Wiring Regulations qualification desirable.
