Salary: £47,142 to £58,953 per annum for a 36‑hour week (subject to experience). Part‑time applications are also considered.

About The Role
You will be a Child Protection Lawyer on the Surrey County Council legal team, delivering legal advice, representation and support on child care matters. You will work closely with frontline Children’s Services and other professionals.
- Manage a varied childcare caseload, including pre‑proceeding and court applications
- Advocate on behalf of the Council in court
- Provide expert legal advice on children and young people issues, including adoption
- Participate in training, supervision and development plans to progress through the Lawyers Career Scheme
Qualifications
Applicants should be Solicitor, Barrister or Fellow of CILEX with family law and advocacy practice rights, and be eligible to practise in England and Wales.
- Manage a full and varied caseload and deliver innovative solutions under suitable supervision
- Excellent communication, negotiation and influencing skills
- Experience or aptitude for advocacy
- Understanding and commitment to Surrey County Council values
- Experience in Family Law (private or public sector) preferred
