ABOUT THE ROLE
Cambridge is evolving rapidly, with ambitious plans shaping how the city grows, connects, and thrives. At Stantec, we’re playing a key role in delivering the infrastructure that makes that future possible.
As our Cambridge office continues to grow, we’re looking for an experienced Principal Technician to join our established Civils team. This is an opportunity to work at the heart of high-profile, technically complex projects across the Eastern region—contributing to developments that will define communities for years to come.
From residential and mixed-use schemes to major infrastructure and regeneration projects, you’ll be part of a team turning ideas into real, buildable outcomes.
You’ll play a central role in project delivery, supporting schemes from early concept through to construction.
- Producing and coordinating high-quality 2D and 3D drawings
- Developing Civils 3D models across highways, drainage, earthworks, and pavement design
- Supporting multi-disciplinary teams to ensure designs are accurate, coordinated, and buildable
- Taking on a CAD leadership role, contributing to technical audits, design checks, and quality reviews
- Collaborating with engineers, project managers, contractors, and plant teams to ensure smooth delivery
Experience with Navisworks would be advantageous, particularly in supporting model coordination and design integration.
YOUR IMPACT
Your work will directly influence how projects are delivered ensuring designs move seamlessly from concept to construction.
You’ll help:
- Improve design quality and consistency across projects
- Strengthen coordination between disciplines
- Deliver models and drawings that contractors can rely on
- Raise technical standards within the team through leadership and mentorship
Ultimately, your contribution will be visible in the infrastructure and developments that shape Cambridge and the surrounding region.
ABOUT YOU
You’re an experienced Technician who takes pride in delivering high-quality, accurate work and understands the importance of well-coordinated design.
You’ll bring:
- Strong CAD and drafting expertise, ideally with Civils 3D
- Experience in highway and infrastructure design
- A background in land development or infrastructure projects
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and improving workflows
- The ability to collaborate effectively across multi-disciplinary teams
You’re someone who doesn’t just follow standards you help raise them.
