Technical Manager Location: Dartford Salary: £55,000 Hours: Monday – Friday
The Opportunity A well-established fresh produce business supplying major UK retailers is seeking an experienced Technical Manager to join its growing technical team. This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong professional with experience in food safety, quality management and retailer compliance. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining customer standards, driving continuous improvement and supporting the delivery of high-quality products across the business.
Key responsibilities include: Managing customer specifications and retailer platforms Maintaining supplier approval and due diligence systems Investigating customer complaints and non-conformances Supporting quality and food safety activities across the site Conducting internal audits and driving corrective actions Maintaining HACCP, BRCGS and Red Tractor systems Supporting third-party audits and customer visits Reviewing and updating policies, procedures and technical documentation Leading food safety culture initiatives across the business Producing technical reports and KPI analysis Liaising with suppliers, customers and internal stakeholders
About You We are keen to speak with candidates who possess: Previous experience within Fresh Produce (essential) Strong knowledge of BRCGS, HACCP and Food Safety Management Systems Experience working with UK retail customers Knowledge of customer specifications and complaint management Excellent organisational and communication skills Strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability A proactive and hands-on approach to quality and compliance Full UK Driving Licence
