Technical Manager
Location: Dartford
Salary: £55,000
Hours: Monday – Friday
The Opportunity
A well-established fresh produce business supplying major UK retailers is seeking an experienced Technical Manager to join its growing technical team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong professional with experience in food safety, quality management and retailer compliance. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining customer standards, driving continuous improvement and supporting the delivery of high-quality products across the business.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing customer specifications and retailer platforms
- Maintaining supplier approval and due diligence systems
- Investigating customer complaints and non-conformances
- Supporting quality and food safety activities across the site
- Conducting internal audits and driving corrective actions
- Maintaining HACCP, BRCGS and Red Tractor systems
- Supporting third-party audits and customer visits
- Reviewing and updating policies, procedures and technical documentation
- Leading food safety culture initiatives across the business
- Producing technical reports and KPI analysis
- Liaising with suppliers, customers and internal stakeholders
About You
We are keen to speak with candidates who possess:
- Previous experience within Fresh Produce (essential)
- Strong knowledge of BRCGS, HACCP and Food Safety Management Systems
- Experience working with UK retail customers
- Knowledge of customer specifications and complaint management
- Excellent organisational and communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability
- A proactive and hands-on approach to quality and compliance
- Full UK Driving Licence
