Locum Consultant in Adult Elective Orthopaedics and Paediatric Trauma SurgeryPost Ref No: SC250655

NHS Grampian is seeking an enthusiastic, skilled, and motivated Locum Consultant Trauma & Orthopaedic Surgeon for an 11‑month fixed‑term appointment. The role offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to a busy and diverse orthopaedic service in the UK.

Responsibilities

  • Attend the 1:6 Paediatric Trauma on‑call rota.
  • Provide subspecialist care in elective adult orthopaedics, with a focus on Lower Limb Arthroplasty, Soft‑Tissue Knee Surgery, or Foot & Ankle Surgery.
  • Deliver trauma and elective services across Woodend Hospital (adult elective orthopaedics) and Royal Aberdeen Children’s Hospital (Paediatric Trauma).
  • Collaborate with a team of 29 Orthopaedic Consultants to maintain high‑quality care and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

  • Full registration with the GMC and a licence to practice (must be in place prior to starting).
  • Demonstrated subspecialist interest in elective adult orthopaedics.
  • Eligibility for work in the UK and ability to comply with NHS Grampian recruitment policy.
