An aerospace leader is urgently seeking a Sheet Metal Fabricator/Mechanical Fitter to contribute to the delivery of bespoke, high‑quality vehicle solutions through complex prototype development, retrofit, and series production.

Key Responsibilities

• Accomplishment of work as directed by the Installation Supervisor or Certifying Engineer.
• Manufacture detailed parts from sheet metal.
• Inspect parts manufactured by subcontractors.
• Assemble parts manufactured by subcontractors.
• Apply protective coatings.
• Work closely with the design team.
• Ensure all parts manufactured are in compliance with the design data to ensure safe operation of the vehicles.
• Work as part of a team or individually depending on the specific work packages.
• Operate within a highly regulated environment.
• Maintain a flexible working attitude to deal with changing priorities within the department.

Qualifications & Experience

Essential

• Minimum Level 2 qualification in Fabrication.
• Previous experience in a similar role such as Sheet Metal Working, Metal Fabrication, Mechanical Fitter or Automotive repair.
• Ability to work as part of a team and on own initiative to high standards.
• Ability to read and understand detailed engineering drawings and associated data.
• Ability to work in confined spaces.
• Adherence to Health & Safety requirements, including wearing appropriate PPE for each task.
• Clean driving licence.
• Experience with SAP / Envision.
• Ability to work with composites.
• Security clearance – successful candidates will be required to undergo background screening and obtain relevant security clearances, subject to role requirements.

Desirable

• Knowledge of techniques used in manufacturing parts from sheet metal to close tolerance.
• Knowledge of types of fasteners used to assemble sheet metal and components using rivets, mechanical fasteners and adhesive bonding.
