An opportunity has arisen to join our Procurement department procuring mechanical and electrical materials across a range of residential projects. Working with a team in a vibrant fast paced environment. We are looking for the right candidate who is adaptable and is eager to work within the dedicated team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Promote efficient and professional impression of the business both internally and externally.
  • Expedite clear and concise communication both internally and externally.
  • Communicate on lessons learnt (both positive and negative aspects) on projects and in the day-to-day activity within the business.
  • Promote and adhere to the procurement business process. (Copy attached)
  • Complete assigned tasks on a day-to-day basis.
  • To be able to problem solve and address potential problems or challenges.
  • To be open to learning new skills and techniques where required, including any role specific training.
  • Actively participate in meetings where required.
  • Assist in managing a strong, reliable supply chain.
  • Source new supply chain partners (where applicable)
  • Good organisation and time management skills.
  • Assist in the smooth running of the procurement department, contributing to a positive team environment. To show respect and support to all other members of the team.

Role Specific Responsibilities:

  • Support the management of our site procurement strategy trackers for the projects assigned.
  • Promote efficient and professional impression of the business externally.
  • Promote and adhere to the procurement business process.
  • Provide feedback to the estimating team where required.
  • Provide accurate information for reporting and KPI’s.
  • Communicate on lessons learnt (both positive and negative aspects) on projects and in the day-to-day activity within the business.
  • Better buy against the targets set with in our project CVRs (cost value report).
  • Support material management audits on site where required.
  • Manage call-off commodity material order with the operations team.
  • Ensure all material orders are placed in a timely manner in line with the dates detailed within the Procurement trackers for projects.
  • Input orders onto the IT system (Cybercube) and issue to relevant suppliers and site teams.
  • Assist the aftercare team when required.
  • Manage meetings with Supply chain partners.
  • Expedite documentation, invoices and information from the supply chain.
  • Expedite and chase overdue materials when required.
  • Assist in the smooth running of the Procurement department.
  • Communicate and liaise with site to establish best buying practices.

Requirements

  • You will either have experience working as a Buyer in the Construction industry or you will have worked for a Builders Merchants.
