Learning Support Assistant (Behaviour) – Cardiff

Job Summary

TeacherActive is working with a specialist behavioural Primary school in East Cardiff to recruit a full‑time Teaching Assistant. The role supports Primary‑aged pupils with behavioural needs in a structured environment with small class sizes.

Responsibilities

• Support Primary‑aged pupils with behavioural needs, working closely with teaching staff to promote engagement, emotional regulation and positive behaviour strategies.
• Receive support and training in Team Teach, with on‑site trainers available.

Qualifications and Experience

• Experience working with children or young people with behavioural needs, SEMH or challenging behaviours.
• A passion for supporting Primary‑aged pupils to achieve their full potential.
• Strong behaviour management and relationship‑building skills.
• The ability to remain calm, patient and resilient in challenging situations.
• Team Teach training is desirable but not essential.
• A proactive and positive attitude towards supporting pupils and staff.
