Pastoral Lead – Liverpool (Full-Time, Temp to Perm)

Tradewind Recruitment is working in partnership with a secondary school in Liverpool to recruit an experienced and motivated Pastoral Lead to join the dedicated pastoral team on a full-time, temp-to-perm basis starting September 2026.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a main point of contact for students, parents, staff, and external agencies
  • Monitor and track student progress, attendance, behaviour, and wellbeing
  • Support safeguarding processes and respond to day‑to‑day pastoral concerns
  • Work closely with the pastoral team to manage cases and coordinate interventions
  • Promote positive behaviour in line with school policies, including rewards and sanctions
  • Organise and support Parents’ Evenings, reports, and key school events
  • Build strong relationships with vulnerable pupils and their families
  • Maintain accurate records using school systems such as CPOMS
  • Lead tutor teams, pastoral meetings, and contribute to whole‑school initiatives
  • Support transition between Key Stages and prepare students for further education or employment

Ideal Candidate

  • Previous experience in a pastoral, safeguarding, or student support role within education
  • Strong organisational and time‑management skills
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to build relationships at all levels
  • High levels of emotional intelligence, empathy, and resilience
  • A proactive and professional approach to supporting student wellbeing

Salary & Details

  • Grade: NJC SCP16‑SCP24
  • Salary: £27,274 – £31,648 (FTE £30,518 – £35,412)
  • Contract: Temp to Perm, Full‑Time
  • Start Date: September2026
