Do you have experience working with children and young people with challenging behaviour or SEMH needs? Are you looking for a full‑time Alternative Provision Teaching Assistant role with the opportunity to become permanent?
TeacherActive is working with an alternative provision that supports students who may struggle within mainstream education. The setting focuses on building confidence, engagement and positive relationships to help young people achieve their potential.
Responsibilities
The successful Assistant will support students on both a 1:1 basis and within small groups, helping to manage behaviour, encourage engagement and support students’ social and emotional development throughout the school day.
Qualifications
- Relevant experience working with children or young people in education, care or support settings
- Experience supporting young people with challenging behaviour, SEMH or additional needs
- Strong behaviour management skills
- A patient, resilient and proactive approach
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- A genuine passion for supporting young people to achieve their goals
