SEN Teaching Assistant – Primary Specialist School | Bury

SEN Teaching Assistant – The Role

• Support pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups
• Assist in delivering tailored learning activities suited to individual needs
• Work with children with a variety of needs, including autism, ADHD, and speech and language challenges
• Encourage positive behaviour, emotional wellbeing, and social interaction
• Liaise closely with teachers, therapists, and the wider support team

SEN Teaching Assistant – About You

• Previous experience working with children, ideally in an SEN or specialist setting
• Patient, flexible, and able to adapt to different learning styles
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• A genuine interest in supporting children with additional needs
• Relevant TA qualifications are beneficial but not essential
