Job Summary
This is a 10 PA locum appointment for 2 Consultant Paediatric Anaesthetists, with special interest in Paediatric Anaesthesia. The post will be available from as soon as possible for a period of six months.
Responsibilities
- Support the paediatric anaesthetic team with 10 PAs.
- Work with other consultant colleagues in the provision of a comprehensive Anaesthetic service at Leeds Teaching Hospitals Trust.
- Participate in the undergraduate teaching programme for the School of Medicine, University of Leeds.
- Support service plans for the specialty, taking account of changes in clinical practice and new technologies available.
- Participate in and progress Clinical Governance.
- Maintain and expand the excellence of teaching and research already established within the Trust.

Excellent communication and team working skills, a strong commitment to teaching and service development are essential. Qualifications
- Essential: Accreditation in the FRCA in the Royal College of Anaesthetics or equivalent, on the Specialist Register or within six months of admission to the Register. Fully registered with the GMC and hold a current licence to practice in the UK at time of application.
- Desirable: NHSLEAD or equivalent (if present).
Experience
- Essential: Established skills in paediatric anaesthesia and at least 12 months advanced training.
- Desirable: Experience in teaching (undergraduate/postgraduate) and in clinical governance.
