The Role in 30 Seconds

Responsibilities

  • Deliver end‑to‑end data science and engineering solutions for clients, including building models and deploying them into production.
  • Work across a variety of projects, from high‑speed trading algorithms to logistics optimisation and election forecasting models.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining internal products and tools.
  • Mentor teammates and contribute to a culture of continuous learning.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Fluent in Python and SQL, comfortable with the Python Open Data Science Stack (pandas, NumPy, scikit‑learn, matplotlib, Seaborn).
  • Hands‑on experience with at least one LLM application pattern (Retrieval‑Augmented Generation, fine‑tuning, or building LLM evaluation suites).
  • Knowledge of embeddings, vector databases, and prompt engineering; experience with frontier model APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic, Google).
  • Experience with MLOps / LLMOps: versioning, monitoring, and iterating models in production.
  • Excellent at agentic coding; skilled at using tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, and GitHub Copilot and reviewing their output.
  • Strong communication skills; ability to write presentation slides and demo scripts for client meetings.
  • Enjoy sharing knowledge and coaching teammates.

Location and Eligibility Requirements

UK‑based, hybrid role. The successful candidate must be able to travel to London 2–4 days per month.

  • Students: Candidates currently in full‑time education (including PhD students) are not considered.

Base Salary and Benefits

  • Annual salary: £38,000, with meaningful uplift after a performance review at the 3‑month probation mark.
