The role
We are recruiting for a Private Client Tax Assistant Manager or Manager to join our International Private Client tax team in London. The role focuses on providing high‑quality personal tax compliance and tax advice throughout the year for our varied and complex client base. You will work with a portfolio of clients whose affairs are often complex and international in scope.

The responsibilities
- Deliver all aspects of the tax compliance cycle on a timely basis for your client portfolio.
- Prepare tax returns for a complex and varied client base.
- Prepare written correspondence for clients and handle interactions with HM Revenue & Customs.
- Correspond directly with clients, family office representatives and other key stakeholders; attend client meetings.
- Work with managers, senior managers, directors and partners to deliver tax advice and tax planning.
- Monitor WIP and budgets, ensure work is billed on completion and chase debts.
The team
The International Private Client team is headed by five partners and consists of 30 staff who collaborate to deliver high‑quality tax compliance and advisory services for complex, cross‑border client cases.
You
A successful candidate should have the following characteristics and skills:
- ATT and/or CTA qualified.
- Positive, enthusiastic attitude.
- High motivation, commitment and ability to work independently.
- Experience in managing a personal tax compliance portfolio and overseeing junior tax staff.
- Strong organisational and prioritisation skills to meet deadlines.
- Proven experience in providing tax advice across income tax, capital gains tax and inheritance tax.
- Experience working with clients with international considerations (e.g., FIG regime, former remittance basis users, statutory residence test, tax treaty issues, cross‑border business and investments, offshore trusts).
- Professional services background.
- Confident communicator with colleagues, partners and clients.
- Team player who can work on own initiative.
- High attention to detail and ability to work in a timely manner.
- Excellent IT skills.
