Product Owner
6 Month contract initially + Extensions. Based: 2 days per week onsite in London. Rate £400‑£450 per day (via Umbrella).
Key Responsibilities
- Creating AI conversational analytics capabilities within an existing data product.
- Defining and owning the product roadmap, ensuring priorities align to business outcomes, user needs, and the phased delivery plan.
- Leading discovery across identified use cases, shaping requirements, refining priorities, and translating business demand into clear epics, features and user stories.
- Working closely with business stakeholders, engineering, data, UX and platform teams to design and deliver capabilities that improve insight access, usability and adoption.
- Driving the rollout of priority use cases and capabilities, managing dependencies, risks and in‑flight changes, and ensuring progress is clearly communicated to stakeholders.
- Supporting the design of intuitive user journeys and AI‑led insight experiences, with a strong focus on self‑service, user adoption and measurable value realisation.
- Defining acceptance criteria, supporting UAT and validating delivered outcomes to ensure solutions are fit for purpose and ready for release.
- Tracking user feedback, adoption and business value, and using these insights to continuously improve the product roadmap and backlog.
- Capturing future demand, validating new opportunities, and feeding a prioritised backlog through the agreed quarterly planning and governance process.
Key Skills and Experience
- Product roadmap, backlog and prioritisation ownership for a multi‑phase analytics and insight platform program.
- Agile delivery/PI/sprint/release planning across discovery, implementation, rollout and value realisation.
- Stakeholder management across business, product, engineering, data, UX, platform teams and external partners.
- Discovery, requirements shaping and user story definition for AI‑led insight and self‑service use cases.
- Experience leading data/analytics product management in insight, reporting or decision‑support products.
- Experience with self‑service insight platforms, analytics products or data‑driven user experiences.
- UX/user journey/self‑service product thinking, with strong focus on usability and adoption.
- Business value and KPI orientation, with ability to prioritise based on measurable outcomes and user impact.
- Strong communication, governance and change management across complex delivery programs.
- UAT, acceptance criteria and release readiness ownership for phased product rollouts.
- Clear and compelling communicator, able to engage business and technical stakeholders, drive decisions and maintain alignment.
- Data savvy: solid understanding of customer data, AI/ML capabilities and data platforms; technically curious with awareness of emerging trends.
- Proactive & pragmatic: self‑starter with strong judgement, able to deliver clarity in ambiguity, make quick decisions and hold teams accountable.
- Community builder: passionate about contributing to and growing the internal product community.
Desirable Skills and Knowledge/Experience
- Knowledge of data platforms (e.g. Snowflake, Azure Data Lake) and modern analytics ecosystems.
- Understanding of AI/GenAI product capabilities, conversational analytics and intelligent insight experiences.
- Exposure to embedded analytics, self‑service BI or search‑driven analytics platforms.
- Experience in retail, loyalty, supplier insights or customer analytics domain.
- Understanding of monitoring, product performance tracking, adoption metrics and observability best practices.
- Experience working in multi‑vendor/partner‑led delivery environments.
