Software Engineer – Role Overview

Azenta UK, Ltd. located in Manchester (office based) is seeking a Software Engineer to join our team of innovators.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, document, and analyze software applications for company products.
  • Develop new programs and subprograms and enhance existing software systems.
  • Write code, develop and execute testing/debugging routines, and document work and results.
  • Plan and execute project plans, budgets, and schedules and maintain documentation.
  • Act as a project engineer/leader, preparing proposals, project plans, schedules, and leading work assignments.
  • Keep up to date on technical advances in the discipline and related fields.
  • Occasional trips to customer sites worldwide for tools installation or troubleshooting.

Required Experience & Skills

  • Experience writing Web/Desktop applications in .NET environment.
  • Expert level in C#.
  • Advanced level in Design Patterns and Object Oriented Programming.
  • Advanced level in REST, JSON, HTML, CSS and JavaScript.
  • Intermediate level in SQL and LINQ.
  • Intermediate level in WPF.
  • Experience in Device Controls and Automation.
  • Experience or interest in Vision Systems and Image Processing.
  • Experience with Agile methodology.
  • Experience with Cognex VisionPro and/or Stemmer CVB.
  • Interest in photography, electronics tools & technologies.
  • Proficiency with Visual Studio 2022, Team Foundation Server, Azure DevOps.
  • Strong communication and English language skills.
  • Team player.

Preferred

  • Experience with VisionPro or STEMMER CVB.
  • Interest in photography or electronics tools.
