About the role

We currently have a great opportunity for a Mechanical & Electrical Engineer to join our leakage team at our Orpington Water Treatment Works Site.

As the Mechanical & Electrical Engineer, your role will involve primarily working on our Zonal Flow meter estate to support our leakage partners in delivering Zonal availability. You will maintain and improve the required standards to ensure first‑time fixes and resolve regulatory and performance obligations, keeping availability and performance at the highest level.

Responsibilities

  • Work in a multi‑disciplinary team with systems, mechanical and electrical technicians.
  • Install, modify and commission new plant equipment to relevant standards, diagnose and repair faults on systems and complex network assets, and identify and report follow‑on work for improvement.
  • Investigate complex network asset failures and implement subsequent repairs as quickly and efficiently as possible.
  • Provide specialist technical advice where appropriate, using up‑to‑date technical knowledge to assist the delivery of zonal availability and complex pressure management.

Qualifications

  • Ideally an engineering degree or another appropriate technical qualification.
  • Working towards or having achieved a relevant professional qualification and/or membership of a professional institution.
  • Proven senior engineer experience in an electrical environment delivering SCADA/PLC installation and maintenance.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Fully competent at using the company IT systems and office software.
  • Familiarisation with RTAP/FTAP and Clear SCADA.

  • Competitive salary between £45,000 and £50,000 per annum, dependent on experience, plus a company van.
