DSFS are looking for a highly motivated, enthusiastic, organised individual to join our payroll team. The role is part of a team within the finance department that provides a payroll and pension service to Chesterfield Royal Hospital NHS Foundation Trust and Derbyshire Support and Facilities Service Ltd.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will be responsible for their own payroll section and workload to help deliver an accurate and quality payroll service.
They will also undertake the responsibilities of payroll checking, calculating manual payments and calculating and checking overpayments.
Person specification
Qualifications and Training
- Educated to GCSE level and attained Grades A‑C or 4‑9 in English and Maths
- Studying towards or have achieved a national payroll qualification
Experience
- Previous experience within a payroll environment
- Previous experience within an NHS payroll office
Skills and Knowledge
- Proven ability to prioritise workload
- Effective written and verbal skills
- Ability to work under pressure and demonstrate initiative
- Knowledge of statutory regulations relating to payroll
- Ability to work alone and as part of a team
- Knowledge of Microsoft packages
- Ability to analyse and interpret complex information
- Good understanding of Agenda for Change/NHS terms and conditions
- Previous use of ESR, the national HR and Payroll System
