Our client is a highly successful and growing Civil Engineering and Infrastructure client with a strong reputation for delivering complex projects across the Renewables and Power and Transmission sectors. Due to a significant increase in workload and a strong pipeline of secured projects, they are looking to appoint a Senior Civil Design Engineer to join their established team in the Highlands.
The Role
As a Senior Civil Design Engineer, you will be responsible for leading and delivering civil engineering designs across a diverse portfolio of projects. Working closely with multidisciplinary teams, you will provide technical expertise throughout the project lifecycle, from feasibility and concept design through to detailed design and construction support. A key aspect of the role will be the development and coordination of 3D models and digital design outputs, ensuring designs are delivered efficiently and to the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and delivery of civil engineering projects within the Renewables, Power and Transmission sectors.
- Produce and review civil engineering designs, drawings, specifications and technical reports.
- Develop and manage 3D models using industry-standard design software.
- Coordinate designs with internal disciplines and external stakeholders.
- Mentor and support junior engineers and technicians.
- Ensure designs comply with relevant industry standards, regulations and client requirements.
- Participate in project planning, design reviews and technical meetings.
- Provide technical support during construction and project delivery phases.
Candidate Requirements
- Degree qualified in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
- Proven experience in a Senior Civil Design Engineering role.
- Strong background delivering civil infrastructure projects.
- Experience working within Renewables, Power, Transmission, Utilities or related infrastructure sectors would be highly advantageous.
- Proficiency in 3D modelling and design software, such as AutoCAD Civil 3D, OpenRoads, MicroStation or similar platforms.
- Experience producing earthworks, drainage, access roads and infrastructure designs.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work effectively within a collaborative office-based environment.
- Chartered status or working towards chartership would be beneficial.
