Move On Officer

Service: Housing Solutions – Move On Team

Location: Brighton & Hove (hybrid working available)

Fixed Term for 1 year

Salary: £32,061 to £33,699

Contractual hours: 37; Basis Flexi Hours

About the role

This is a people‑focused role where you’ll support households at a key point of change. You’ll help individuals and families understand their housing options, prepare for independent living, and move on successfully from supported accommodation. The work is varied, collaborative and outcomes‑driven, with a strong focus on preventing repeat homelessness.

What you’ll be doing

  • Supporting people to develop clear and realistic move‑on plans
  • Working with supported accommodation providers to coordinate timely move‑on
  • Helping households navigate housing pathways, including private rented and social housing options
  • Identifying and addressing barriers to move‑on, working with partners to resolve them
  • Providing early, practical support to help sustain new tenancies
  • Keeping accurate records and contributing to personalised housing plans

  • Experience of working with people facing housing, support or transition challenges
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build trust with a wide range of people
  • Confidence working collaboratively with internal teams and external partners
  • A strengths‑based, solution‑focused approach
  • The ability to organise your work, manage priorities and follow things through
