Apply for the Clinical, Forensic or Counselling Psychologist
Location: Cottingham
Job Description:

Clinical, Forensic or Counselling Psychologist

We have an exciting opportunity for a senior forensic/clinical/counselling psychologist to join the inpatient psychology team based at the Humber Centre for Forensic Psychiatry.

The successful candidate will join a friendly and welcoming team comprising forensic, clinical, assistant and trainee clinical/forensic psychologists. While holding an identity as a psychology team, the members provide psychological input to the hospital across all medium secure wards and the low secure units on site, maintaining great working relationships with other teams within the service.

The current departmental model enables the successful candidate to be aligned to a ward to provide psychological consultation to the MDT and nursing team and also hold an individual caseload across the service. This allows opportunity for developing skills with MDT working and consultation, whilst also developing clinical practice across a range of presentations, and there are frequent opportunities for engaging in CPD, training and personal development.

Main duties of the job

The role has a range of opportunities to influence practice across the service, and to hold a varied and dynamic caseload.

The senior psychologist will support the service by conducting forensic risk assessments, developing formulations, and delivering intervention for complex cases, providing consultation to ward teams, and supporting service development through delivering training and supervising colleagues.

There is also opportunity to provide risk assessments to social services through our SAARC service. The successful candidate will have significant clinical autonomy and opportunity to be creative in developing their role to fulfil these responsibilities, whilst also being supported within the psychology team.

There will also be potential to supervise newer qualified members of the team, including trainee clinical and forensic psychologists, designing and delivering training for colleagues as well as teaching on the Clinical Doctorate at the University of Hull.
