Overview
Insight Employment are seeking a Quality/Warranty Automotive Inspection Engineer to head up a small but efficient team for a client of ours based in Milton Keynes.
Responsibilities
- Batch check, inspect and report on engine parts produced to exacting standards and confirm they match associated drawings and samples.
- Report all findings through internal systems and follow through to a positive result.
- Possible liaison with customers for warranty issues and direct contact with manufacturing partners or via the Purchase Director.
- Inspect warranty parts as required and provide reports against the products and associated parts.
- Adopt a hands-on approach when necessary, within the tech office.
- Organise rectification work as part of the remit.
- Understanding of coordinate-measuring machines (CMM) would be advantageous, along with CAD and manufacturing processes through CNC.
Requirements

- Be competent and able to complete the task
- Methodical in your approach
- Good understanding of Excel, Word, Gmail, CAD
Desirable/Advantageous
- Experience with Excel and Word and ability to report failures and findings
- Ability to analyse and fault-find automotive engine parts
- Good understanding of engine components and their workings
- Ability to read production or design drawings
- CAD experience would be an advantage
- CMM experience or strong understanding
- Experience with measuring equipment such as hardness testers, camshaft profiles, micrometres; training will be provided for the right candidate
Salary
£40-£45k depending on experience.
