We provide market‑leading Data Protection Officer services to over 1,700 schools and academies across the United Kingdom, supporting them with everything from conducting data protection audits to drafting data policies and procedures, managing data requests and providing employee training.

About the Role

We have an exciting opening for a Data Protection Consultant. Our consultants are true experts, with a diverse range of experience and approaches. Day‑to‑day, you will:

  • Conduct data compliance audits, analyse findings and present detailed audit reports with recommendations and follow‑up actions.
  • Review policies and procedures to assess data protection compliance and provide practical recommendations for improvement.
  • Respond to client queries by phone or email, offering clear, practical advice and guidance, conducting research, setting out options and managing any follow‑up.
  • Draft and review Data Protection Impact Assessments.
  • Maintain regular contact with clients to monitor progress towards compliance.
  • Deliver training sessions to clients, ensuring staff understand and can fulfil their responsibilities.
  • Assist clients to handle data requests and data breaches in accordance with legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Act as a proactive member of the data protection team, contributing to department meetings, presenting areas for discussion and development ideas.

Please note, this role is not suitable for aspiring or experienced data analysts. The focus is on advising and supporting clients with data protection advice and guidance.

We usually work in a hybrid way, with one day per week at our London Bloomsbury office, but remote working opportunities can be discussed.

About You

  • Prior Data Protection experience and strong subject matter knowledge.
  • Excellent communication skills, able to build trusted relationships and deliver a robust, tailored service to clients.
  • Ability to work autonomously, with proven experience of data protection compliance.
  • Comfortable reviewing and drafting policies and procedures with excellent analytical, research and report‑writing skills.
  • High‑level problem‑solving skills, with the capability to produce high‑quality, professional content.
  • Experience delivering client training sessions both virtually and in person.
  • Experience in Education, Legal, Regulatory or Consultancy sectors is desirable.

Benefits

  • 28 days holiday, with an extra day for each year you stay with us, up to a maximum of 33 days plus bank holidays.
  • Health Cash Plan (once you’ve passed probation), including access to a private GP.
  • From day 1, free life insurance covering up to four times your salary.
  • We’ll add money into your pension pot after 3 months.
  • Flexible benefits after probation – choose from extra holiday, dental, healthcare plan top‑up, bikes, gym membership, electric cars, etc.
  • Learning and development opportunities.
  • Volunteer days – 3 paid volunteer days a year, with 2 dedicated to Education.

Employment offers are subject to satisfactory vetting checks, conducted in line with the latest guidance and legislation. You must already have the right to work in the UK; we do not offer sponsorship for visa applicants.
