About the role
Are you an experienced Carpenter with a passion for fire safety and a keen eye for detail? Our client, a reputable Passive Fire Protection company based in Billericay, Essex, is seeking a dedicated Fire Door Carpenter to join their team. In this role, you will primarily focus on fire door remedial works and installation of new fire door sets, contributing to life‑saving safety measures. The company also produces bespoke fire door assemblies and fire‑rated enclosures in their workshop, which will be installed on‑site. You may occasionally be tasked with fire‑rated stud partitions and boxing‑in. The role involves logging all works through a user-friendly company app, so good digital literacy is essential. While most tasks revolve around fire doors, there will be opportunities to learn fire stopping techniques, with comprehensive training provided. The ideal candidate is proactive, open‑minded, and eager to develop new skills within a supportive team environment.
Responsibilities
- Perform fire door remedial works and install new fire door sets.
- Produce bespoke fire door assemblies and fire‑rated enclosures in the workshop for on‑site installation.
- Occasionally undertake fire‑rated stud partitions and boxing‑in.
- Log all work through the company app, requiring good digital literacy.
- Collaborate with clients and site staff, ensuring effective communication.
- Work independently and as part of a team in a supportive environment.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in carpentry or general building/multi‑trade roles.
- Experience with fire doors preferred.
- Willingness to learn fire stopping techniques (full training provided).
- Excellent communication skills for liaising with clients and staff.
- Own tools and a valid van driving licence.
- Self‑motivated, proactive, open‑minded, and eager to develop new skills.
