Job Description:

We have an exciting opportunity for a Shift Process Operator at our Beckton Sewage Treatment Works.

What you will be doing as a Shift Process Operator

  • Support in-flight reactive and planned activities while keeping Key Stakeholders informed at all times.
  • Manage all reactive work by carrying out risk assessments; liaising with teams, and escalating when required. Ensuring asset standard compliance is adhered to at all times.
  • Support planned activities, ensuring that all enabling is completed promptly, resulting in reduced planned activities.
  • Monitoring daily alarms to identify potential plant issues. Interrogate, analyse and interpret available data to make informed decisions and escalate accordingly.
  • Follow and comply with company Health & Safety procedures, and auditing practices, and maintain records.
  • Act as technical support for isolation, sharing information regarding process risks and other Health & Safety issues. While monitoring all alarms to ensure appropriate, timely action is taken.

Base Location: Beckton- IG11 0AD.

Working Pattern or Hours: Permanent – 36 hours per week shift pattern.

What you should bring to the role

  • Boiler Operation and turbine/generator experience.
  • Must be prepared to be trained in safety procedures.
  • Experience in a relevant industry and with experience in helping to manage or control the appropriate processes.
  • Technical expertise and responsibility may require additional qualifications.
  • Good practical experience in the specialist process gained in a related role.
  • Full UK Driving License
  • Fully competent at using the appropriate Company IT systems and Office software.

Additional skills and experiences would be great to have/bring

  • Technical C&G or HNC desirable.
  • Previous experience with SCADA systems would be an advantage.
