Job Role
We are looking for a Learning Support Assistant who will provide dedicated support to a pupil with a physical disability, ensuring their safety, wellbeing and full access to learning throughout the school day. This role includes assisting with mobility, including the safe use of specialist equipment such as a hoist, as well as providing appropriate intimate care in a dignified, sensitive and respectful manner.
The LSA will work closely with teaching staff and external professionals to implement care plans and support the pupil’s independence, inclusion and overall development.
Training will be provided.
What You Need to Succeed
- The ability to relate well to children and adults
- A background in nursing or care is desirable
- To work constructively as part of a team, understanding classroom roles and responsibilities and your own position within these
- To be able to use initiative in and outside of the classroom
- An understanding of child development and learning
