PLT Heavy Excavator Operator

Plant / Heavy Excavator Operator – Birmingham – £23.51 PER HOUR (PAYE)

VGC Group are looking for experienced Plant / Heavy Excavator Operators to start on a project in Birmingham. This contract is available to start ASAP and we can offer up to 2 years worth of work for a successful candidate.

Role Details

• Role: Plant / Heavy Excavator Operator
• Location: Birmingham
• Rate: £23.51 per hour (PAYE)
• Hours: 50 hours per week
• Contract: Permanent
• Experience: 2 years +

Requirements

• Valid Blue CPCS Card or NPORS (with CSCS hologram) – essential
• Proven experience operating heavy excavators on site
• Strong knowledge of plant safety and site operations
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Operator Responsibilities

• Operating heavy excavators safely and efficiently on site
• Carrying out excavation, grading, trenching, and earthmoving tasks
• Following site drawings, plans, and instructions from supervisors
• Conducting daily pre-start checks and reporting defects
• Ensuring machinery is used in line with health & safety regulations
• Maintaining a clean and safe working environment
• Communicating effectively with site teams, banksmen, and supervisors
• Assisting with general plant-related duties where required
• Reporting hazards, near-misses, or incidents promptly
