Higher Level Technician – Aseptic Services

Job Overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, highly motivated pharmacy technician to join our friendly and dynamic team to provide high quality aseptic services.

Responsibilities

• Dispense and issue medicines, including aseptic manipulation and compounding of Parenteral Nutrition for adults and neonates.
• Reconstitute cytotoxic chemotherapy products, including drugs used in the treatment of cancer, cytotoxic clinical trials and monoclonal antibodies.
• Perform ad hoc aseptic dispensing, stock control and final accuracy checking of dispensed medicines.
• Supervise and co‑ordinate the work of Pharmacy Technicians, Assistant Technical Officers, students and support staff.
• Train Pharmacy Technicians, Assistant Officers, students and support staff under the direction and supervision of Senior and Chief Technicians.
• Work independently and on the initiative, subject to the supervision of Senior and Chief Technicians.
• Support the unit’s operations during weekend service, early starts, late nights and bank holidays in the Aseptic Unit.

Qualifications

• Secondary care experience preferably with aseptic production.
• Experienced qualified pharmacy technician.
• Proven post‑qualification experience in aseptic production.
