Technology Services Technician

Purpose of the role

Technology Services Technician based at Longbridge depot, CV35 8AA, part of the Area 9 Maintenance & Response contract with Colas, working on behalf of National Highways. They will deliver both cyclical and reactive works, safeguard health and safety, and maintain up-to-date skills.

Main Responsibilities

• Health and safety in the workplace, setting a good example and ensuring awareness and compliance with general responsibilities.
• Deliver technology cyclical works and response over the course of a shift.
• Report directly to the Technology Supervisor on health and safety and progress during shifts, and to Management on activities undertaken.
• Use a range of hand & power tools and operate plant items such as Hiab and MEWP.
• Perform other duties as reasonably requested.
• Work predominantly Monday to Friday day shift, with night shifts as required.
• Ensure all activities respect environmental regulations and minimise impact.

Ideal Candidate

• Experience in highways or an electrical background, or willingness to learn and pursue a long‑term career.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Ability to work independently without close supervision.
• Forward‑thinking, good communicator and hardworking.
• Desire to collaborate to find root causes and deliver proactive maintenance.

Package Description

• Salary between £32,000 – £35,000 (dependent on experience and licences) with night shift uplift and overtime paid 1.5x.
• 45‑hour week Monday‑Friday.
