We are hiring an Associate Specialist to join a multidisciplinary team at Chadwick Lodge in Milton Keynes. This part‑time (4‑day week) role involves providing first‑line medical care across medium and low secure wards for both male and female service users.
Responsibilities
- Prepare First‑Tier Tribunal and Hospital Managers’ hearing reports under the supervision of a Consultant.
- Provide medical reports and attend CPA meetings to review the care of patients with NHS England case managers and community care coordinators.
- Deliver oral evidence at First‑Tier Tribunal and Hospital Managers’ hearings under the supervision of the Consultant, depending on experience.
- Contribute to service development by participating in Clinical Governance activities, including audits, research and teaching.
- Work with colleagues to ensure patients have appropriate medical cover at all times.
- Provide prospective cover to other specialty doctors while they are on leave.
- Liaise with GPs and practice nurses regarding the physical healthcare of patients.
Qualifications
- Full GMC registration.
- At least 3 years’ experience in psychiatry.
- Experience working in a psychiatry setting within multidisciplinary teams.
- Experience working as a doctor within a similar environment.
- Good standing for CPD with the Royal College of Psychiatrists.
- Appraisal/RITA process completed within the last year.
- MRCPsych (desirable).
- Section 12 (2) approval (desirable).
- AC status (desirable).
