Job Description:

Location: Based within Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea (RBKC). This service does not have step free access.

Shift Pattern: 37.5 hours per week on a rota Monday to Friday, primarily working 09:00 to 17:00 with some shifts 13:00 to 21:00. Additional work outside these hours may be required, including bank holidays.

About the Role

We are hiring a Support Mentor to join our team based in RBKC. In this role you will support residents who have multiple and complex needs, including homelessness, mental health, and substance use challenges. Your work will involve creating tailored support plans, delivering activities, and collaborating with partners. You will also maintain a trauma‑informed, psychologically informed, and safe environment for our people and communities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support residents facing complex challenges.
  • Create tailored support plans through one‑to‑one sessions, group sessions, and multi‑agency meetings.
  • Monitor residents’ wellbeing, conduct regular welfare checks, and respond to incidents or emergencies.
  • Plan and deliver activities that engage residents with other people, communities, and opportunities (days out, in‑service activities).
  • Keep support plans updated on the online portal as appropriate.

About You

  • Previous professional or lived experience supporting people with multiple and complex needs.
  • Ability to engage with diverse backgrounds, build rapport, and empower individuals to achieve personal goals.
  • Empathy, compassion, and creative problem‑solving skills.
  • Intermediate IT skills, including Microsoft and other software programs.
  • Flexibility to adapt working patterns to the needs of the service and residents.
  • Understanding of the challenges faced by people with multiple and complex needs and awareness of social marginalisation.
