Food Department Technician

This is a varied and hands-on role, ideal for someone who enjoys working in a practical environment and takes pride in maintaining high standards of organisation, cleanliness and food safety.

• Preparing ingredients, equipment and teaching resources for practical lessons
• Supporting teachers and students during practical food sessions
• Maintaining food rooms, equipment and storage areas to a high standard
• Managing stock levels, ordering supplies and undertaking food shopping
• Completing cleaning, laundry and food hygiene routines
• Supporting examination preparation and coursework administration
• Monitoring equipment maintenance and reporting faults
• Assisting with departmental displays, resources and general administrationIs highly organised and able to manage multiple tasks effectively
• Has excellent attention to detail and high standards of cleanliness
• Understands the importance of food hygiene, health and safety procedures
• Works well independently and as part of a team
• Has good IT and administrative skills
• Is flexible, practical and enjoys supporting young people in their learning

Previous experience in a food, catering, hospitality, education or technician role would be advantageous, although full training will be provided.
