Assistant Branch Manager
Connexus UK is proud to be partnering with a leading supplier of professional power tools, equipment, and machinery, with multiple branches across Northern Ireland.
We are seeking an Assistant Branch Manager for the Belfast branch to support the Branch Manager in the day-to-day running of the operation.
This opportunity would suit someone currently working on a trade counter within a power tool, tool hire, machinery, engineering supplies, or industrial products environment who is looking to take the next step into branch leadership.

The Role
As Assistant Branch Manager, you will play a key role in supporting branch performance, customer service, sales growth, and operational standards.
Working closely with the Branch Manager, you will help ensure the branch operates efficiently while delivering an excellent customer experience.
This is a hands-on position that combines customer-facing trade counter duties with leadership responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities Trade Counter & Customer Service
- Serve trade and commercial customers on the trade counter
- Provide advice and product recommendations on power tools, equipment, and machinery
- Build strong customer relationships and encourage repeat business
- Resolve customer queries in a professional and timely manner
- Maintain excellent product knowledge across the branch range
Branch Operations
- Support the day-to-day running of the branch
- Assist with stock control, goods-in processes, merchandising, and branch presentation
- Ensure company procedures and health & safety standards are followed
- Support branch performance and operational efficiency
- Step into the Branch Manager role when required
Sales & Business Development
- Support the achievement of branch sales targets
- Identify opportunities to upsell and cross-sell products
- Help develop existing customer accounts
- Assist in generating new business opportunities within the local market
Team Support
- Lead by example and contribute to a positive team culture
- Support the onboarding and training of new team members
- Assist with motivating and developing colleagues
What We’re Looking For Essential
- Recent trade counter experience within a power tools, tool hire, machinery, engineering supplies, or closely related environment
- Strong knowledge of professional power tools and associated products
- Experience dealing with trade customers on a daily basis
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Good organisational skills and attention to detail
- A proactive and hands-on approach to work
Desirable
- Experience supervising a team or supporting branch operations
- Previous experience in an Assistant Manager, Supervisor, or Senior Trade Counter role
- Experience working towards branch sales targets and KPIs
