Quantity SurveyorOxford | £50,000 – £70,000 + Package

One Way are working in partnership with one of the South of Englands most respected family-owned construction businesses to recruit a Quantity Surveyor for their Oxford office.

Established for over 100 years, our client has built an outstanding reputation for delivering high-quality new build, refurbishment, restoration and design & build projects across the commercial, education, healthcare, residential, leisure and heritage sectors. Operating from five regional offices, the business continues to grow with a strong secured pipeline of work and record financial performance.

The Role

As Quantity Surveyor, you will take commercial responsibility for projects from pre-construction through to final account, working closely with operational teams, clients and supply chain partners.

Projects typically range from £1m to £30m and include a mixture of new build, refurbishment, restoration and design & build schemes across Oxfordshire and the wider South East.

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing subcontractor procurement, accounts and final accounts
  • Preparing valuations, applications for payment and variations
  • Cost reporting, forecasting and budget control
  • Supporting procurement and tender processes
  • Managing project cash flow and financial performance
  • Working closely with site and project management teams
  • Assisting with value engineering and risk management
  • Maintaining strong relationships with clients, consultants and subcontractors
  • Supporting successful commercial delivery from inception through to completion

Requirements

  • Previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor with a main contractor
  • Strong understanding of commercial management within construction
  • Good working knowledge of JCT contracts (NEC beneficial)
  • Experience on new build and/or refurbishment projects
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Degree qualified or equivalent in Quantity Surveying or Construction Management
  • Ambitious, organised and commercially aware
