Job Description:

We’re partnering with a growing and dynamic organisation seeking a Senior Finance Manager to play a key leadership role within its finance function. This is an opportunity to make real impact – leading a small team, shaping financial processes, and partnering with the wider business to drive performance and growth.

You’ll work closely with senior leadership, contributing to both strategic decision-making and operational excellence, while helping to build a high‑performing, forward‑thinking finance function.

The Role

Leadership & Team Management

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a small finance team across transactional and accounting functions
  • Foster a collaborative, high-performance culture
  • Support the development of finance capability across the business

Financial Management & Reporting

  • Deliver accurate and timely monthly management accounts and reporting packs
  • Manage cashflow forecasting and provide insightful analysis
  • Ensure strong financial controls and full compliance with statutory requirements
  • Oversee VAT returns, audits, and regulatory submissions

Business Partnering

  • Partner with operational teams to review performance and identify opportunities for improvement
  • Translate financial data into clear, actionable insights
  • Support strategic decision-making across the organisation

Controls, Compliance & Process Improvement

  • Maintain and enhance internal controls and reconciliation processes
  • Lead audit processes and ensure compliance with financial regulations
  • Identify and implement process and system improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy

Additional Responsibilities

  • Oversee payroll coordination and ensure accuracy of employee‑related financial data
  • Monitor working capital, including receivables and inventory compliance requirements
  • Support senior finance leadership on ad‑hoc analysis and projects

About You

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Fully qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA or equivalent)
  • Proven experience in a Finance Manager or senior accounting role, including team management
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge and financial reporting expertise
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience with finance systems (e.g. Sage or similar)
