This role is an excellent opportunity for a Senior Registered Nurse or Paramedic to join our team of diverse, talented healthcare professionals delivering high‑quality care that is patient‑centred and focused on improving the health and wellbeing of people in prison.

As part of the Integrated Healthcare Service you will provide primary care services and specialist interventions, support rehabilitation and re‑entry, and contribute to a positive culture of hope and resilience.

Responsibilities

  • Provide high‑quality clinical care within the Integrated Healthcare Service for the prison, demonstrating robust expert clinical skills and evidence‑based practice.
  • Deliver a range of services including reception screening, emergency response, long‑term conditions management, planned care, enhanced assessment, diagnostic intervention and health promotion activities.
  • Manage a complex caseload and support junior colleagues with advice and guidance.
  • Co‑ordinate day‑to‑day operations of the healthcare team and deliver clinical supervision to band 5 healthcare professionals, healthcare assistants and students.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Senior Registered Nurse or Paramedic qualification.
  • Relevant experience delivering acute and primary care in a secure or prison setting.
  • Sound knowledge of evidence‑based nursing practice and the NHS Plan, public health indicators and National Service Frameworks.
  • Willingness to undertake National Security Vetting to work in a prison setting.

Required documentation: proof of right to work, photographic ID, proof of address (5 years), and for non‑UK passport holders, a Home Office Share code and, if applicable, a police certificate.
