Job Description:

Lotus Cars Limited, manufacturing facility in Norwich, is looking for a Plant Support Senior Technician to join our Facilities team.

Responsibilities

  • Keeping production managers informed of maintenance activities and job progress.
  • Checking and calibration of key production and metrology equipment to satisfy internal and external audits.
  • Undertaking minor improvements and project work relating to site services.
  • Performing minor electrical and compressed air installations as required.
  • Carrying out building maintenance activities as needed.
  • Moving and installing small items of plant in production areas.
  • Routine servicing work.
  • Organising and planning larger maintenance tasks that require method statements and risk assessments.
  • Responding to emergency breakdowns.
  • Updating certificates and legislative documentation records.
  • Daily monitoring tasks relating to site services and critical plant.
  • Routine inspections and testing as part of general site walk‑around.
  • Updating repair details & parts records on the computer maintenance system; keeping asset lists up to date and controlling Line Replacement Units.
  • Repairing production equipment, fixing faults and conducting investigations relating to machine failures.
  • Maintaining a tidy and organised maintenance workshop and maintenance work areas around the site.
  • Following health and safety, environmental and other engineering standards that apply to the maintenance of plant and equipment site-wide.
  • Managing stock of specialist components and spares relating to business‑critical plant.
  • Working within a defined budget.
  • Supporting and daily controlling external contractors, including checking method statements and risk assessments and raising work permits to control these activities.

Qualifications

  • GCSEs in maths, science, English and design and technology.
  • Understanding of engineering drawings and principles.
  • Good practical and technical skills.
  • Awareness of health & safety legislation.
  • Experience in a maintenance role with another organisation.
  • Strong teamwork skills, ability to work unsupervised and show calmness and orderability in a crisis.
  • Eligibility to work in the UK without visa sponsorship.
