Job Overview

Assist in delivering an efficient, effective, quality sourcing service to NHS in Wales, ensuring resources are maximised and the service provides optimum solutions to customers to release resources for patient care.

Main duties of the job

An opportunity within NHS Wales Shared Services Partnership Procurement Frontline team based at Alder House, St Asaph, North Wales. The role involves purchasing selected goods and services in accordance with procurement policies and procedures, analysing quotations, processing orders on the computerised purchase order system, achieving financial and performance targets, negotiating non‑compliant non‑pay expenditure to reduce non‑catalogue requests and increase catalogue usage, and assisting the Procurement Business Relationship Team in delivering health board cost improvement savings plans.

Qualifications

  • 5 GCSEs Grades A–C including Maths and English

Experience (Desirable)

  • Contracting/Procurement experience
  • Experience working in an office environment
  • Experience working with customers or suppliers

  • Proven ability to prepare documentation using Microsoft products that are structurally and grammatically correct and suitable for final presentation

Desirable criteria:

  • Welsh language skills desirable (levels 1 to 5 in understanding, speaking, reading and writing)
