Job Description:

£12.85 per hour

Wythenshawe, Manchester

Full-Time, Part-Time

We are looking for someone who is approachable, warm, and able to connect with the young adults we support at our mental health service in South Manchester. This person will support service users to develop their skills and knowledge so that they can live more independently in the community and sustain their tenancies. They will help them develop independent living skills and navigate tenancy‑related issues.

This candidate will identify areas where a service user needs support, work with them to devise an individual support plan, and support the young person to implement this plan. The role involves collaborative, creative work with tenants, being non‑judgemental, relating to the issues young people face, having a laid‑back approach, being a good listener, using initiative, and working both independently and alongside others.

Key responsibilities

  • Understand their tenancy responsibilities
  • Live alongside others and accept differences in people
  • Develop their own awareness and skills
  • Reflect on their lives and plan for the future
  • Find positive moves on in housing and in life
  • Improve their relationships
  • Achieve their potential

Experience providing care and support to individuals with mental health needs is desirable but not essential. We value a desire and commitment to work alongside young people, promoting positive change in their lives and helping them to achieve their aspirations.

Benefits

  • Full training is provided, and an opportunity to work towards a QCF Diploma in Health and Social Care
  • Probationary bonus
  • Pension contributions
  • 28 days annual leave
  • Company‑paid enhanced DBS

The service is located in Wythenshawe, South Manchester, with good transport links and local amenities. Bus services and metro links are within a few minutes walking distance.

Only individuals located in and eligible to work within the UK will be considered. This post will not be open to sponsorship under the UKVI scheme.
