Support Worker – Children’s Residential Home

Horsham | From £28,091.70 per year | Sleep-ins available (£83 per night)

A well-established residential childcare provider is opening a new home in Horsham and is looking for a Support Worker to join their team. This role is being advertised by 1Four1 Recruitment.

This is a great opportunity to be part of a new service supporting children and young people in a residential setting. The focus is on delivering person-centred care that promotes independence, personal growth and gives young people a strong voice in their daily lives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support children and young people in a residential care environment
  • Supervise daily routines including before and after school and meal times
  • Maintain a safe, structured and supportive living environment
  • Contribute to care planning, risk assessments and behaviour management
  • Accompany young people on activities and provide positive role modelling
  • Work closely with colleagues, families and external professionals
  • Record incidents, accidents and ensure safeguarding procedures are followed
  • Attend team meetings and follow guidance from senior staff

Requirements

  • Previous experience working with children or young people in a care setting
  • Experience as a Support Worker, Care Assistant or Residential Childcare Worker
  • Full UK driving licence and ability to commute to Horsham
  • Good communication skills and a patient, supportive approach
  • Understanding of safeguarding and child protection
  • NVQ Level 2 Health & Social Care (preferred)
  • GCSE or equivalent (preferred)
  • Right to work in the UK
  • This role will require an enhanced DBS check and satisfactory references
