Field Service Operative (FSO)

Salary & Location

Salary: £47,355.00 per annum. Primary location: Yeovil, UK. Hybrid working: onsite and international travel.

Responsibilities

• Perform discreet maintenance tasks (modifications, repairs, scheduled maintenance) on customer aircraft operating within the UK and overseas.
• Assist Customer Support Field Service Representatives and support the customer base.
• Prepare and assess Contractor Working Party (CWP) deployments, determining required GSE, tooling and materials.
• Collaborate with Leonardo Helicopters departments, customers and suppliers to agree and progress CWP plans.
• Monitor progress of work to agreed schedule and budgets, ensuring effective communication with key stakeholders.
• Manage day‑to‑day work requirements within the pre‑defined Statement of Work, using available resources efficiently.
• Ensure all work complies with the Company Operating System (COS) procedures and relevant maintenance exposition.
• Maintain company inspection approval on in‑ and out‑of‑production aircraft per trade discipline and work experience.
• Respond at short notice to work requirements in the UK and overseas, operating to irregular schedules and extended hours when necessary.

Qualifications

• Completed an Aeronautical Engineering Apprenticeship or equivalent military training.
• Engineering qualification of minimum HNC/BTEC or equivalent.
• Solid experience in an aviation environment with sound knowledge of engineering/maintenance standards and practices.
• Effective communication skills.
• Previous overseas working experience preferred.
