We’re looking for compassionate, committed and child-focused Family Support Workers to join our Children with Disabilities Service.
This is a role for people who want to do meaningful, hands-on work, building relationships, supporting families through challenges, and helping children with disabilities live fuller, more independent lives.

About the Role
As a Family Support Worker, you will work directly with children and young people with a wide range of additional needs, alongside their families, to deliver practical, tailored support that makes a real difference.
You will:
- Build strong, trusting relationships with children, young people and their families
- Deliver direct, person-centred support that promotes independence and confidence
- Ensure the child’s voice and lived experience remain at the heart of all work
- Support families to overcome barriers and access the help they need
- Work as part of a wider team to deliver evidence-based interventions
- Help children develop social skills, resilience and daily living skills
- Work closely with partners across health, education and community services to improve outcomes
- Support carers and families to find sustainable ways of coping, including opportunities for short breaks
This is a relational, hands-on role where you’ll see the impact of your work every day – in small steps, big achievements, and meaningful moments.
Who We’re Looking For
You’ll be someone who:
- Has experience working with children, young people or families (experience of disability is valuable but not essential)
- Is passionate about supporting children with additional needs to thrive
- Can build genuine, trusting relationships with children and families
- Is patient, empathetic and able to adapt to each child’s individual needs
- Works well as part of a team and alongside partner agencies
- Is organised, reliable and able to manage a varied workload
