The role works alongside the Head Teacher to set the vision for the future of the school, ensuring the right people and plans are in place to help children and young people with Autistic Spectrum Disorder, Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs leave feeling proud of what they have achieved.
Responsibilities
- Work with children and young people with Autistic Spectrum Disorder/Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs.
- Set the vision for the school, ensuring that the necessary people and plans are in place.
- Support the Head Teacher and wider management team, and collaborate with specialist staff to achieve positive learning outcomes.
- Lead, coach and develop the school team, creating a rewarding and well‑resourced environment for staff and students.
- Contribute to the planning and delivery of a well‑resourced, child‑centred educational experience that prioritises individual progress, care and wellbeing.
- Work as part of the secret garden campus opening (up to 40 pupils) and help develop a new state‑of‑the‑art primary campus.
Qualifications and Experience
- Previous teaching experience and Qualified Teacher Status.
- Leadership and management experience.
- Drive to raise the quality of teaching and learning.
- Understanding of good behaviours for learning.
- Effective leadership and coaching skills.
- Knowledge of how to use interpersonal skills to develop a strong staff team.
