About Us

Cadman & Manpen are a well-established dry lining, suspended ceiling and passive firestopping contractor delivering high-quality projects across the commercial, education, healthcare, residential and industrial sectors. We are looking for an experienced and commercially focused Quantity Surveyor to join our team.

The Role

This is a hands-on role requiring a proactive individual who can manage the commercial aspects of multiple projects while working closely with site teams, clients and subcontractors. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring projects are delivered profitably and that all contractual entitlements are identified and recovered.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the commercial performance of dry lining and suspended ceiling projects from award through to final account.
  • Measure and calculate weekly operative wage claims and productivity returns from site.
  • Monitor labour performance against budgets and identify opportunities to improve efficiencies.
  • Identify, price, submit and negotiate variations and change orders, ensuring all additional works are captured and recovered.
  • Maximise contract profitability through robust cost control and commercial management.
  • Prepare and submit interim valuations and applications for payment.
  • Monitor project costs, forecasts and cash flow.
  • Work closely with Contracts Managers and Site Managers to ensure accurate reporting and commercial awareness across projects.
  • Attend site visits and client meetings as required.
  • Prepare monthly cost value reconciliations and commercial reports.

Requirements

  • Previous Quantity Surveying experience within dry lining, plastering, ceilings or interior fit-out sectors.
  • Strong understanding of labour-only operations and operative wage processing.
  • Proven track record of identifying and recovering variations.
  • Excellent commercial awareness with a focus on protecting and enhancing project margins.
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel and commercial reporting systems.
  • Full UK driving licence.
