About the Role

As a Residential Support Worker, you’ll help create a safe, nurturing, and structured environment where children can thrive. You’ll support young people with their daily routines, personal development, education, and emotional wellbeing while promoting independence and positive outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Building positive and trusting relationships with children and young people
  • Supporting daily routines, activities, education, and life skills
  • Promoting emotional wellbeing, independence, and positive behaviour
  • Maintaining clear boundaries and providing consistent support
  • Working closely with colleagues, families, and external professionals
  • Recording and reporting information accurately
  • Supporting safeguarding and ensuring the highest standards of care

Qualifications

  • Experience working with children, young people, or individuals with Learning Disabilities
  • A calm, patient, and resilient approach
  • Confidence in managing challenging situations professionally
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Commitment to delivering high-quality care and support
  • Residential childcare experience and relevant qualifications are desirable but not essential

Required Skills

  • Experience working with children, young people, or individuals with Learning Disabilities

Pay range and compensation package

£25,359 – £34,055 per year*

£13.50 per hour + £50 per sleep-in
