Introduction

Severn Trent isn’t all water and wastewater in the Midlands. Severn Trent Services (STS) is a thriving non‑regulated business providing outstanding services in the Utilities sector across the UK. We have an ambitious growth plan and are exploring a wealth of exciting strategic opportunities to cement our place as one of the sector leaders.

We’re looking for an experienced Network Analyst to join our team and make a real impact, ensuring our water and wastewater assets run efficiently, stay compliant, and deliver for our customers.

In this role, you will undertake detailed analysis of water and wastewater data, including consumption volumes, flow and pressure data, and STS operating costs, to help minimise costs, maximise legitimate consumption, and improve overall network performance. You will also prioritise improvement strategies, ensuring the most cost‑effective activities and customer‑focused initiatives are delivered first.

This role is based in Reading.

Key Accountabilities Include

  • Use understanding of bill tariffs and charging regimes to optimise internal operating processes and site configuration.
  • Provide technical responses related to the client estate development and water/wastewater network improvement schemes.
  • Analyse client site measurements with recommendations to maximise legitimate water consumption.
  • Ensure flows and pressures on the client network are sufficient to meet contractual firefighting requirements, establishing root cause of any specific issues and identifying least cost interventions to resolve.
  • Use all available feedback and data to target interventions to minimise the likelihood of sewer flooding or pipe blockages.
  • Conduct cost benefit analysis to support investment decisions.
  • Have an understanding of Water and Wastewater network configuration for the purposes of providing technical advice to Asset Management, Field Operations, Contract and Engineering teams.
  • Ensure contractual measurement accuracy and network performance monitoring through optimised plans for water meter maintenance and repair.
  • Influence Regional Service Delivery Teams, to undertake and deliver plans and programmes within prescribed timescales.
  • Report performance to peer groups, business and strategic leadership teams.
  • Identify opportunities for increased reliability and improved operating efficiency.

What We Are Looking For

In order to be successful in this role, you will have a strong understanding of how water distribution and wastewater networks operate, alongside the ability to analyse large volumes of data and distil key insights from complex graphical information.

You will be a collaborative team player with proven problem‑solving and logical thinking skills, capable of delivering results in environments where accuracy and reliability are critical.

You will also be IT literate with confident use of Microsoft Office, and demonstrate experience of working with and managing expectations across multiple internal and external stakeholders.

This role requires a full UK driving licence and the flexibility to work a nine‑day fortnight when required.

How We Will Reward And Care For You

  • 25 days holiday + bank holidays (and the ability to buy/sell up to 5 days per year)
  • Salary £37,618.05 – £44,226.73
  • Annual bonus scheme (up to 15% of salary dependent on company performance)
  • Leading pension scheme – we will double your contribution (up to 15% when you contribute 7.5%)
  • Family friendly policies (including, a year off fully paid maternity and adoption leave)
  • Sharesave – the chance to buy Severn Trent Plc shares at a discounted rate
  • Dedicated training and development with our “Academy”
  • Electric vehicle scheme and retail offers
  • Two volunteering days per year
