SharePoint Specialist

Overview

The SharePoint Engineer designs, builds, and supports SharePoint Online and wider Microsoft 365 solutions. The role focuses on creating secure, scalable, and user-friendly collaboration platforms, using SharePoint and the Power Platform to support business processes and improve productivity.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and manage SharePoint Online environments, including site structure, permissions, and governance
• Build modern SharePoint solutions (hub sites, pages, lists, libraries)
• Develop low-code solutions using Power Apps, Power Automate, and AI capabilities
• Integrate SharePoint with other systems using REST APIs and Microsoft Graph
• Ensure SharePoint environments meet security, compliance, and data governance standards
• Monitor performance, troubleshoot issues, and apply updates or improvements
• Provide technical guidance and support to users and internal teams
• Document solutions, processes, and best practices
• Work with IT teams on cross-platform initiatives and complex issues
• Support users with SharePoint queries and deliver training to increase adoption

Decision Making

• Manages day-to-day configuration and maintenance within governance frameworks
• Escalates major changes, security concerns, or architectural decisions to senior leadership or governance boards

Skills & Experience

• Strong expertise in SharePoint Online (modern experience, sites, lists, libraries, hub sites)
• Advanced experience with Power Automate and Power Apps
• Experience with REST APIs, Microsoft Graph, and data integration
• Strong communication skills across technical and non-technical audiences
• Problem-solving and troubleshooting capability
• Ability to adapt to changes in the Microsoft 365 ecosystem
• Collaborative team player
• Knowledge of development technologies (e.g. React, C#, .NET, HTML, CSS)
• Proven experience designing and managing SharePoint Online environments
• Hands-on experience with Power Platform and automation solutions
• Experience integrating systems within Microsoft 365 environments

• Resolves technical issues across SharePoint and integrated systems
• Diagnoses complex performance or configuration challenges
• Delivers practical, scalable solutions within time constraints

Stakeholder Engagement

• Works with internal IT teams, business users, and stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver solutions
• Provides technical advice and user support
• Engages with external vendors when required
