Overview

This is an exciting opportunity to provide senior professional leadership to nurses within Renal Services which includes Renal Dialysis Units at Stobhill Hospital, Glasgow Royal Infirmary and Vale of Leven Hospital, as well as acute in‑patient nephrology beds at the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital. The post holder will provide clinical, professional and managerial leadership to ensure the objectives and quality standards of NHS Scotland’s National Quality Strategy and National Nursing and Midwifery Quality Assurance Framework are achieved.

Responsibilities

  • Inspire, motivate and empower the nursing team and wider health‑care teams to deliver high quality bedside care and improve the patient experience.
  • Participate in clinical sessions to quality‑assure care delivery at the bedside.
  • Partner with the Chief Nurse, General Manager, Clinical Service Manager, Lead Nurse, finance, human resources and medical colleagues to deliver sector department plans that drive financial efficiency and quality initiatives, while ensuring person‑centred care remains at the forefront of decision making.

Qualifications

  • First Level Registered Nurse with significant post‑registration experience and a substantial period as a Band 7 senior level manager.
  • Current registration with the NMC is essential.
  • A first‑level degree is essential; a Masters Degree or working towards one is desirable.
  • Recognised Clinical Leadership/Management qualification and/or equivalent experience is desirable.

Additional Requirements

  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and team‑working skills, with the ability to exert influence and develop constructive working relationships with a wide range of clinical and non‑clinical staff.
  • Ability to work independently, take initiative and listen effectively.
  • Current driving licence – travel across sites will be required.

Shift Pattern

5 over 7 days.
