Position Details
0.8 WTE Advanced Physiotherapy Practitioner – 1 year temporary – Stroke Rehabilitation – Royal Victoria Building (RVB) – Western General Hospital (WGH).
Key Responsibilities
- Provide assessment and intervention to patients in the WGH stroke unit across the spectrum of stroke complexity.
- Contribute to clinical development and leadership of the stroke service in conjunction with Team Lead physiotherapists.
- Supervise, mentor and appraise other staff members and students.
- Lead complex stroke case management and apply effective leadership to deliver best clinical practice.
- Enhance the evidence base, promote clinical service development and modernisation in line with national and local strategic drivers.
- Participate in multidisciplinary teamwork with physiotherapy, allied health professionals, nurses, doctors and the activity coordinator.
- Apply QI methodology and support service development.
Qualifications and Experience
- Band 7 Advanced Practitioner physiotherapist qualification.
- Experience in stroke rehabilitation and complex case management.
- Demonstrated experience in supervision, mentorship and appraisal.
- Knowledge of and experience with QI methodology and service development.
- Valid PVG Scheme membership/record for the required regulatory group; if not currently a member, must be able to apply to Disclosure Scotland and comply with regulatory requirements.
